can use the module to control inventoried materials and supplies
and track receipts and issues to maintain current balances. Another
variation creates a fixed asset inventory of major items tracking
their purchase, the vendor, the funding source who paid for the
item, the condition, location, purchase price, general ledger
account charged and other related data elements. There are close
relationships between inventory, purchasing, and accounts payable.
The fixed asset inventory is used by federally programs to maintain
records for major appliances and purchases over the life of the
item.
