CAPTAIN Information System for Community Action, Human Services,

of the agency are combined with desktop Windows based personal
computers and workstations that can be located wherever they are

Web enabled, CAPTAIN is available over the Internet from our
servers that are hosted in a secure web data center that is
protected and secure 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is
no longer a need for an agency to make an investment in a server
or wide area network unless their specialized needs require
it. They simply connect to their Internet Service Provide (ISP)
and then to their own secure database maintained on the host
server. All modules in the CAPTAIN System are Internet ready.
The
operating environment is driven by a powerful mission critical,
enterprise wide operating system with full support for system
security through multi-layered password protection, unattended
system backup, database access protection, file and record locking,
and many other critical features required by industrial quality
systems and maintained to those standards.
The
configuration is completely scaleable and has no practical upper
limits with respect to server capacity, memory, disk storage,
processing power, or number of users.
In
one comprehensive package, CAPTAIN delivers a one stop shopping
solution for all of the administrative, fiscal, and program
management issues related to operating a multiple purpose human
service agency and all of the related management challenges
that this presents. The Fund Accounting modules deal with the
cost allocation and fiscal problems inherent when funding comes
from multiple sources in multiple programs, grants, and contracts.
